International Student Admissions

The New School takes great pride in welcoming international students from around the world. The contribution of culture, language, and varying perspectives invigorates our global community. Since Albany is the Capital of New York State, the home of many colleges and universities, the seat of government as well as home to so many cultural and natural attractions it is a wonderful choice for, study abroad. Easy access to public transportation makes getting around extremely inexpensive and convenient. With areas such as historic Saratoga and beautiful Lake George to the north and New York City to the south, Albany is an ideal place to call home. Express bus and high speed rail (train) service along the scenic Hudson River makes weekend excursions to NYC both easy and enjoyable. Just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from New York City, The New School Center for Media, provides an affordable alternative in terms of tuition, housing and living expenses. The Schools’ state-of-the-art facilities, with high-quality instruction, provide each student with the hand’s-on-training needed for success in their career. Tours are available, either virtual or in person, upon request.

The New School is SEVP Certified to issue I-20 forms for non-immigrant foreign students. Once accepted into a New School program, students are eligible for M1 Student Visas, allowing them to study with us here in the U.S. Students may enter 30 days prior to the start of class and remain for 60 days following graduation. The New School is committed to assisting international students with the admissions process. The first step is to contact our admissions office and request an international student information package. The New School also assists with housing, transportation and other needs the student might have.
